Catalyst is a CRM system developed by Kapsys to automate sales pipeline processes and reduce paperwork. Established as one of Switzerland's leading insurance brokerage solutions, Catalyst offers features such as performance tracking, client profile management, insurance contract management, financial planning, risk analysis, and payroll management.
The platform was developed to address the limitations of existing CRM solutions and provide a comprehensive toolset tailored for insurance brokers.
Project goals
Create a new design from scratch to showcase Catalyst CRM's key features and serve as a sales touchpoint.
Ensure seamless user experience on both desktop and mobile platforms.
Utilize Strapi for easy sitemap generation, product catalog management, and provide video tutorials for client maintenance.
Implement Google Analytics 4 and Hotjar to monitor and analyze user interactions.
Use Next.js and Strapi to achieve high performance and fast loading times.
Results
Catalyst CRM received extremely positive feedback from Combinvest’s users, including insurance brokers and other employees, for significantly improving their operations.
The development team successfully defined and transformed extremely complicated business logic of some processes into effective solutions.
In 2023, a customizable, client-independent version of Catalyst CRM was developed to reduce third-party dependencies.
Catalyst CRM is anticipated to become one of the most successful software solutions for insurance brokers in the EU market, driven by its power and versatility.
Overcoming Challenges
Until 2017, Combinvest relied on manual processing of paper-based insurance contracts, which was time-consuming and inefficient. They needed a comprehensive software solution to reduce application processing time, improve record tracking, and streamline customer communications.
At the time, several CRM systems were available, but none offered the complete set of features required to fully digitalize Combinvest's sales pipeline and significantly improve the customer experience. As a temporary measure, Combinvest adopted BrokerStar CRM. While it digitalized core sales and communication processes, BrokerStar had critical limitations. It heavily relied on third-party components and licenses, and lacked broker-specific features essential for boosting sales and ensuring business growth. This highlighted the need for a more tailored and comprehensive CRM solution.
Solution Implemented
Shortly after adopting BrokerStar, Combinvest recognized the need for a more comprehensive CRM and decided to develop their own in early 2017. The goal was to create a CRM that incorporated best practices in the insurance industry, covering lead generation, sales, customer support, policy management, sales performance analysis, and commission calculations.
Combinvest adopted a broker-centric approach, focusing on providing brokers with essential digital tools, communication channels, and automated services. Development began in late 2017, and by the end of 2018, the first version of Catalyst CRM was released, fully digitalizing the sales pipeline and post-purchase support operations.
